CONTROL Resonant’s “Altered State” trailer precedes the first public hands-on at gamescom

Thanks to gamescom, we’re seeing a flurry of new trailers releasing. Among them being CONTROL Resonant. Much anticipated by myself, CONTROL Resonant is merely a month away from releasing, so they’re making sure to get that hype train to keep rolling. Alongside this trailer, they’ve also got a booth setup in the booth at gamescom to give interested attendees a chance to run through a playable demo.

The trailer doesn’t show a ton in a consistent sense, rather focusing on a fast-paced revolution of clips and shots from what are presumably various points in the game and story beats. Revealing as little as possible while still showing off enough to keep people interested, we get little peeks of gameplay amidst the melancholic atmosphere shots that everyone who touched the original Control should be familiar with. Floating people are menacingly suspended in the area and various not-SCP-but-SCP creepy creatures are in abundance.

CONTROL Resonant – Altered State Trailer | Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026

Control: Resonant launches worldwide digitally on September 24th, and physically on October 15th. I’m not sure if this is another industry strategy to convince players to give up physical media, but I am glad that they are at least offering a physical media version at all (not calling anyone out, here…).

Along with this trailer and showcase, Control: Resonant is fully laying out all pre-order and Digital Deluxe edition inclusions, which I will just include a quote here from their own release, as I don’t think I can set it up any better or different:
